My first show was just one song within a showcase. Its crazy because as a dancer I can go out on stage in front of 10,000 people and feel right at home, however making that initial transition from stage back to stage front, Mic in the hand wasn’t so easy. Anyhow, I was mad nervous for real. So my slot came up, went out there, confidence grew the more I got into it. But then as the second chorus kicked in, I stepped on the mic lead and It plugs out. (ha ha) So Live On stage I picks it up, plugged it back in, said a quick 1,2, just as the third Verse came in and smashed up the rest of the song. Well I had to!. Just that one song taught me so much. Never stepped on the mic lead again, and my performance now is one of my strongest points. You Wanna see me? HOLLA!!

My first evr live show was about a few years back at a place called the “Red Sea”. It’s a restaurant in The University City Loop, which is where I’m from. They have a small stage and DJ booth downstairs that kind of reminds me of the scenes in 8mile. The whole atmosphere is real hip hop, which is perfect for me. I performed thee songs with my label mate, V1, working as my hype man that night. I just remember a lot of smoke and me being really excited to get going. We had a little sound problem but we worked it out and I don’t remember too much else about it. I guess I kind of blacked out and did my thing because the reception was good from everyone there. Being home made me a little more confortable too. That was special for me.

First live show was at Mosswood Park in Oakland CA at an even for the Black Panther Party. The place was pakced at an outdoor venue and all I remember was the sound system was tight and the event was very well organized. A lot of power surrounded the event since Oakland is where the movement started. A couple local named artist performed and the group I was in at the time sold the show. So much so, that after we left the stagea couple of the promoters asked me to go solo and they would put me on more gigs…

One of our first * most exciting shows was a performance for Butlins, where we has about 100 children on stage with us. We taught them some of our dance routine & the chorus to our song. It made us truly love what we do… Seeing their happy smiling faces!

One of the first live shows that I remember was more of a spot at an open mic night. I had been going to a gospel singing class for a few years and with my new found confidence it was time to take it to the stage. All the time I was in my singing class I used to go down to this place called the Spot in Covent garden which was like an open mic night where all the best singers in town would go to show off. A lot of the singers were session singers who worked with the likes of Luther Vandross, Sting, Madona. So to say it was daunting would be an understatement. I rounded up my mates and headed down there after spending a week preparing the song. When I got there to my horror I saw Alexandra ONeal sat in the front row. My heart nearly stopped, I wanted to turn back and run but before I knew it one of my mates had gone and put my name down to sing. I was called up straight after Alexander ONeal. Some how I got through the song and I guess you could say I have never looked back since.
