Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This album is finally gonna have a real chance. Mariah neglected the project for months in favor of “Precious” promo, which payed off… She’s received all types or acclaim from the critics and is going to be receiving a “Breakthrough Performance Award” for her portrayal of a inner city social worker!
The album, however, debuted with a mere 200,000 copies sold it’s first week, the singles have gone nowhere (with the exception of “Obsessed”) and the album currently sits at #95 on The Billboard 200 Albums Chart… DISGRACEFUL!!!!
Mariah will re-release the album this coming February with all the content left off the original version, which as is, is one of the best albums of the year overall… Production and song writing credits from Jermaine Dupre, Timbaland, Trick Stewart and The Dream will all be added along with some remixes of songs present on the original release. A new “Inseperable” will feature Trey Songz. That song probably won’t be a single given the popularity of “Yesterday”, Toni’ Braxton’s lead single from her new album which also features Trey. The dark “Betcha Gon Know” gets a “Part II” which will feature R&B’s king, R Kelly!!! I’m really excited to hear the new album and even more excited about this project getting all the praise and recognition it deserves!
With the right push this album could sell just as many copies as 2005’s “The Emancipation of Mimi” and push her hit count past The Beatles current 20! Cross your fingers!!!

Mariah’s critical acclaimed follow up to 2008’s “E=MC2″ is arguably her best Def Jam release yet, the most listenable album of the year without a question. While Rihanna’s “Rated R” is one of the best produced, a fiery part II succeeding her mega hit “Good Girl Gone Bad”. Poor Amerie received the smallest promo budget but her album is solid, finding her at home in her r&b roots on a new label… These are 3 albums EVERYONE should cop before years end!!!
Jay-Z is having an international affair to celebrate his 40th birthday next week. An insider from his camp accidentally spilled to a source that Jay and his celebrity friends (and likely his wife and her fam) are traveling to the Dominican Republic to party it up. We hear Diddy, Kanye West, Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Mariah Carey, Kevin Liles, LeBron James and many other folks are heading to the Caribbean with him. And they’re all getting together to get Mr. Carter a very special gift. Nice!

This album is a great follow up to her 2007 radio and chart killer “Good Girl Gone Bad”. The wait is certainly over!!!
The album contains the best vocals I’ve heard from Rihanna EVER. This is illustrated on tracks like “Russian Roulette” and “Stupid In Love”. The project as a whole is very listenable and thought out.

The highlighted tracks above make this album one worth waiting for! The “It Girl” is at her best. We should be hearing singles ALL next year from Princess Riri.
If I had to select my favorite song it be “Photographs”.. She works amazingly over Will.I.AM production and the song sounds like something he would have created for The Duchess (Fergie) or put on the peas last project “The E.N.D”! It has the biggest chart and radio potential of any track on the album. I hope she continues to work with him in the future.
This album has been released amongst Beyonce’s Tour DVD/Deluxe Edition of “I Am Sasha Fierce”, Lady Gaga’s “The Fame Monster” and a singles collection from Britney Spears. Despite those odds and huge names I’m sure Rihanna will have her #1 debut. This is a fresh, artistic piece and she deserves her props…

During the last U.K. stop of her “I Am…” tour at the Trent FM Arena in Nottingham, Beyonce announced that she indeed has plans of releasing a new album next year.
“This is my last show for this tour in the UK, so hopefully, I’ll see you all in a year with a new album,” a raspy-voiced Beyonce told the crowd at the end of the set, before thanking them “from the bottom of my heart” for coming to the show. Producer Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins also confirmed the news on Twitter, recently posting he is working on some tracks for Beyonce’s upcoming album.
Beyonce’s 2008 album, “I Am… Sasha Fierce,” has sold 2.5 million copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Virtuoso Intellect anyone???
While some have forgiven Chris Brown for his actions towards Rihanna and decided to embrace him again, others haven’t been so easy to let the past go.
Producer Timbaland, who was originally slated to have Brown featured on his upcoming release Shock Value II, has now removed the singer completely from his album.
Initially the singer was set to provide his vocals to a song called “The One I Love”.
Rapper D.O.E., who is also featured on the song, stated that the song had to undergo many title changes as they didn’t seem to be appropriate with the events that had taken place with Brown and Rihanna. The first title for the track was “Maniac”, but obvious circumstances wouldn’t allow that to fly.
It has been reported that another reason for being exiled from the album is due to the fact that the singer himself was coming up with inappropriate titles. Suggesting things such as “I Like It When You Cry.” “Love Is A Knockout Punch,” and “Now I’m Really Gonna Kill You” must not have been the type of shock that Tim was looking for, according to a source in his production team.
“We would have kept Chris on the album if he didn’t insist on suggesting inappropriate song titles every three minutes. And I have no idea why he brought brass knuckles to the studio. That stuff is totally unacceptable.”
As he continues to prep for his December 4 release date, Tim has already starting providing visuals to his second helping. A music video was recently released for the single “Morning After Dark” featuring SoShy and is already getting to release the music video to “Say Something” with Drake.
The third single is scheduled to be “Carry Out” featuring Justin Timberlake. It should hit U.S. radio on December 1.
Whether the statements are strictly hot air or hold some truth, the young singer has a long road to climb before he can get back in everyone’s good graces once again.

The release date for Usher’s new album, “Raymond v. Raymond,” is being moved, according to a spokesperson at Jive Label Group. Recently announced as being December 21st, a new release date is still being determined. According to the spokesperson, the date change is to give “Raymond v. Raymond” the proper set-up time that it deserves. “This is a solid album that we believe in. We want to give it a proper launch.” The album’s lead single, “Papers,” holds the No. 2 post this week on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs.
Usher’s last album, 2008’s “Here I Stand,” has sold 1.2 million units, according to Nielsen SoundScan. His biggest-selling album to date is 2004’s “Confessions,” which stands at 9.7 million units.

I’m real excited to see what Usher’s come up with! He and Mariah both dropped the ball in 08. She’s redeemed herself to an extent and now it’s his turn. Trying to reproduce an amazing, chart topping, benchmark setting project like “Confessions” is no easy task… I don’t expect him to top that album but let’s hope he came closer then “Here I Stand”…
Kanye is currently working on his 5th studio album, due sometime early to mid next year. He’s been overseas with Amber the past few weeks getting some R&R and letting everyone forget about the whole Taylor Swift situation…
Diddy’s stream of band fallouts is continuing as Day 26 formally announces that they’ve left his Bad Boy record label. While Diddy embarks on new territory with his recent signing to Interscrope, his brain child of Quanell, Willie, Brian and Mike will do the same. The group has moved from Diddy’s emblem toAtlantic Records. By doing so, hopefully they’ll be able to salvage their career before their demise a la Danity Kane.
While their days with Bad Boy were numbered from the start, Willie is adamant that there’s no bad blood between the group and the powers that be. He told TheBoombox,
“Bad Boy is always our family, but we’re with Atlantic right now…we really want to get people focused on the artistry, on the music. I think a lot of people lost it with the entertainment of the show. So now, we really want to show people what we’re all about, that we do our thing whether it’s on stage, in the studio, writing and producing — we do it all.”

FINALLY!!! This is one of the worst labels to be signed to. Diddy uses his groups, squeezes every penny he can out of exploiting them on these shows and then cuts them loose when the coins dry up. This obviously isn’t in the best interest of the artist…
First off; this isn’t a re-release. It’s 8 new songs, the original album isn’t included. That said, I’m not as impressed as I expected to be…
I like her brand of pop, the eccentric/off the wall approach to everything but some of these songs are just stupid…

Mrs Carter is under-utilized on this track but with good reason. Can’t have Queen B upstaging the lady…
Bottom line:
Only “Bad Romance” matches her singles from the original album but I’m not tripp’n. The album was only $8.. This is for those who wanted some more Gaga and the majority of those fans will be satisfied..

The 21st Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival (PSIFF) will present Mariah Carey with the Breakthrough Performance Award for her performance in Lee Daniels’ “Precious: Based on the Novel ‘Push’ By Sapphire.” The Awards Gala will take place Tuesday, January 5 at the Palm Springs Convention Center and will be hosted by “Entertainment Tonight’s” Mary Hart. The Festival runs January 5-18, 2010.
Festival chairman Harold Matzner commented, “We’re delighted to be able to present the Breakthrough Performance Award to the extraordinary, very beautiful and versatile Mariah Carey, who, in a critically acclaimed role, completely transformed herself from a glamorous music icon to a forthright social worker for the role of Ms. Weiss in Precious.”

I saw the movie this past Sunday and loved it. I didn’t think it was all Oprah and Tyler Perry made it out to be but a great movie. Mo’Nique and Mariah really did that! So proud of both for all the Oscar buzz. Mariah deserves this award. She really is a great actress!

Expanding to 629 screens, this was the weekend for “Precious” to truly prove itself a formidable box office entity. Adding on 455 screens and screening all over the country, it did just that.
According to estimates provided by Rentrak today, the Lee Daniels film grossed $11,007,500 over this pre-Thanksgiving holiday weekend, averaging a fantastic $17,501. This was all the more impressive coming in the midst of one of the most robust female-driven box office weekends in film history.
“Precious” is now heading into the Thanksgiving frame – one of the most potent of the year – with $21,403,000 already in its pocket, a gross some wondered if it could ever even hit. It’s quite possible the film could be pushing $50 million before the awards boosts of December even comes into play.

For those of you who don’t know: Jay-Z and Dame Dash established Roc-A-Fella Records years ago but the partnership fell apart, Dame sold his stake to Def Jam and Jay-Z eventually became sole owner of the label. Since Jay-Z has left Def Jam and changed the label’s name to RocNation, after signing a huge deal with LiveNation! Now Dame is back with his own spin on the old marque, “BlakRoc Records” I can’t wait to see what he comes up with!!! Ohhhh the politics!!!
